We did Ion Quiz #3 and a Light and Electron Quiz.
We reviewed previous learning about the history of atomic structure and the role light played in the development of the atomic model. We learned how Bohr, deBrodlie, Rydberg, Heisenberg, and Schrodinger used this information of formulate the Quantum Mechanical Model.
We looked at our Electron Configuration guided learning activity of a few weeks ago, and used that and our new learning about orbitals to write electron configurations:
Write an electron configuration for each element in the correct space on the blank periodic table. What? The electron configurations are too long and won’t fit? Then look for at least 4 patterns and generalizations that will help you predict the ending of the electron configurations without writing out the whole thing!
